Alexandra Stan

Alexandra Stan is a Romanian singer-songwriter from Constanța who rose to international fame with her 2011 single «Mr. Saxobeat». Discovered at a karaoke bar by producers Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi, she signed with their label and released her debut single «Lollipop (Param Pam Pam)» in late 2009, which drew attention for its provocative visuals.

«Mr. Saxobeat» became a global dance-pop hit, topping charts across Europe and selling close to a million copies within a year, establishing Stan as one of the most successful Romanian pop exports of the early 2010s. Her music blends Europop and electronic dance influences with catchy, saxophone-driven hooks, later expanding into more R&B- and rap-inflected material on subsequent releases like «Lemonade» and «Mami».

Stan has continued to record in multiple languages, including French with tracks like «Écoute», broadening her reach across European markets. She remains one of Romania’s best-known pop exports, recognised for her distinctive dance-pop sound and high-energy performances.
