Alexandra Burke

Alexandra Burke is an English singer, songwriter and actress who rose to fame after winning the fifth series of the British television talent show The X Factor in 2008. Her winner’s single, a cover of Leonard Cohen’s «Hallelujah», became one of the best-selling singles in UK chart history and topped the charts over the Christmas period that year, cementing her as one of the most successful X Factor alumni.

Burke’s music blends pop with strong R&B and soul influences, showcasing a powerful, gospel-tinged vocal style. Following her X Factor win she signed to Syco Music and later worked with Epic Records and RCA, releasing hits such as «Bad Boys» (a collaboration with Flo Rida) and «All Night Long». Her debut album Overcome reached number one in the UK.
