Alex Cameron is an Australian musician, singer and songwriter from Sydney who built his solo career around a distinctive high-concept persona: the failed entertainer. Rather than singing about success, Cameron inhabits washed-up lounge singers, con men and desperate self-promoters, using deadpan humor and synth-driven arrangements to explore ambition, self-doubt and quiet tragedy. His delivery is often theatrical and satirical, drawing comparisons to Bruce Springsteen and Randy Newman for the way he builds empathetic character studies out of unlikeable narrators.
