Al Bano

Al Bano, born Albano Carrisi in Cellino San Marco, Italy, is one of Italian pop music's most enduring voices. He rose to prominence in the 1960s and became internationally famous both as a solo artist and, from the 1970s onward, as one half of the duo Al Bano & Romina Power, formed with his then-wife, American-Italian actress and singer Romina Power. Their warm, melodic duets made them household names across Italy, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

Musically, Al Bano works within a lush, orchestral pop and light Mediterranean R&B tradition, favoring emotional, big-chorus songs built for mass appeal. Tracks like «Felicità» and «Ci sarà» became defining hits of the duo era, while «Sharazan» and «Il ballo del qua qua» showed a lighter, more playful side of his catalogue. He also represented Italy multiple times at the Sanremo Music Festival, a career-defining stage for Italian pop artists.
