Akeboshi

Akeboshi is a Japanese singer-songwriter born on July 1, 1978, in Yokohama, Japan. Blending pop, folk, and rock influences, he began learning piano at age three and later took up guitar, developing a soft, introspective vocal style paired with acoustic-driven arrangements. He is best known internationally for his song «Wind», which gained widespread recognition after being featured as an ending theme for the anime series Naruto, introducing his music to a global audience beyond Japan.

Before launching his own solo career, Akeboshi contributed to the Japanese music scene by writing songs for other artists, including two tracks on Matsu Takako's fourth album, A Piece of Life. His time studying music in Liverpool, England, left a lasting imprint on his songwriting, infusing his work with influences from British folk and rock traditions alongside his native Japanese pop sensibilities.
