Ajay Gogavale is one half of Ajay-Atul, the Indian composer duo he forms with his brother Atul, best known for their prolific work in Marathi and Hindi cinema. Emerging from Maharashtra, the brothers built their reputation scoring Marathi films before becoming leading names in Bollywood, blending orchestral arrangements with folk and devotional Marathi idioms. Their music is recognized for combining large-scale symphonic production with rhythms and melodic lines rooted in regional Maharashtrian tradition.
Ajay-Atul's soundtrack work spans hit songs such as «Zingaat», «Yad Lagla» and «Pehli Baar», alongside devotional numbers like «Durge Durgat Bhari». They received the National Film Award for Best Music Direction for the Marathi film Jogwa in 2008, a milestone that cemented their standing beyond regional cinema. Their sound is often marked by sweeping strings, powerful percussion and anthemic choruses that translate well across both festival and film contexts.
Over the years the duo has worked across multiple major Bollywood productions, becoming known for high-energy dance numbers as well as emotionally driven ballads.
