Aimer

Aimer is a Japanese singer and lyricist signed to SME Records, known for her distinctive husky voice — a lasting result of a period of vocal loss she experienced as a teenager, after which she underwent silence therapy. Raised around music, with a father who played bass, she studied piano from childhood and later took up guitar and English songwriting under the influence of Avril Lavigne, while citing Ringo Sheena and Utada Hikaru as key role models.

She began her career collaborating with the Agehasprings production collective, writing and producing for artists including Yuki, Mika Nakashima, and Superfly, before launching her own solo career with the 2011 debut album «Your Favorite Things». Her music blends pop and rock with cinematic, emotionally weighty arrangements, and she has become especially prominent for songs tied to anime soundtracks, including «カタオモイ» and «Brave Shine» for the «Fate» franchise, and «ninelie», a collaboration with Chelly of EGOIST.
