Ahmad Band

Ahmad Band is an Indonesian rock project formed around musician and producer Ahmad Dhani, best known as the leader of Dewa 19, one of Indonesia's most influential rock bands. Ahmad Band emerged as a side project that brought together several respected figures from the Indonesian rock scene, giving Dhani a vehicle for material distinct from his main band's sound.

The lineup drew on musicians associated with other well-known Indonesian acts: guitarist Andra Ramadhan, who also played lead guitar in Dewa 19 and later fronted Andra and The BackBone, alongside members linked to Slank and Netral. This cross-pollination of talent gave Ahmad Band a distinctive, collaborative pedigree even as a short-lived or one-off outfit, blending hard rock energy with the melodic sensibilities typical of Indonesian mainstream rock of the era.

Songs such as «Ode Buat Extrimist», «Distorsi», «Interupsi», and «Bidadari di Kesunyian» reflect the project's rock-driven, occasionally socially pointed songwriting, sitting alongside more melodic, ballad-oriented tracks like «Sudah» and «Aku Cinta Kau dan Dia». Ahmad Band remains a notable footnote in Indonesian rock history, valued for uniting musicians from several prominent bands under Ahmad Dhani's creative direction.
