About the artist
Agnez Mo, born Agnes Monica Muljoto in Jakarta, Indonesia, began her career as a child singer at the age of six and went on to become one of Indonesia's most prominent pop artists. After releasing several children's albums and hosting kids' TV programs, she launched her adult career with the album And the Story Goes in 2003, which reestablished her as a major force in the Indonesian music industry.
Her sound blends pop, R&B and rap, drawing on both Indonesian and Western influences, and she has been noted for taking on producing and songwriting duties on her own records, notably from Sacredly Agnezious onward. She built a broad regional profile through acting roles in Taiwanese television dramas and by winning recognition at the Asia Song Festival in Seoul in consecutive years.
Beyond music and acting, Agnez Mo served as a judge on Indonesian Idol and pursued an international career, signing with a label venture connected to Sony Music Entertainment. Songs such as «Karena Ku Sanggup», «Rapuh» and «(Love) Overdose» remain among her best-known Indonesian-language hits, while later releases reflected her push into English-language pop and R&B for global audiences.
