Agnes

Agnes, born Agnes Emilia Carlsson on 6 March 1988, is a Swedish singer who rose to fame after winning the second season of Idol in Sweden in 2005. Her victory led to a record deal and a string of Swedish-language and English-language pop hits that established her as one of the country's most recognizable pop exports of the late 2000s.

Her breakthrough international moment came with the album «Dance Love Pop» and its singles «On and On» and «Release Me», the latter becoming a global club and chart hit that topped dance charts and reached the upper tiers of the UK charts. The record's shimmering synth-pop and Europop production placed Agnes firmly within the Scandinavian pop tradition while giving her a distinct, dance-floor-oriented identity.
