Afasi & Filthy

Afasi & Filthy were a Swedish hip-hop duo from Uppsala, formed by rapper Herbert Munkhammar (known as Afasi) and producer Magnus Lidehäll (known as Filthy), who met as schoolmates and began performing together locally. Their breakthrough came with the 2003 EP «1990 Nånting», whose title track, featuring Snook, became a radio hit that summer and charted in Sweden, leading to a major-label deal with BMG.

The duo's sound blended playful, colloquial Swedish rap with accessible, radio-friendly production, a combination that distinguished them from more underground Swedish hip-hop acts of the era. Following their BMG single «Bomfalleralla», they built momentum independently through two mixtapes, «Hotell Stress» Vol. 1 and 2, released in 2006 and 2007, which helped cement their reputation before their sole studio album.

Their album «Fläcken», released in 2008, was met with critical acclaim and is regarded as the high point of their catalog, featuring tracks such as «Naminaja», «Skruva upp», and «Le Parkour». Afasi & Filthy remained active as a duo until 2009, after which both members pursued separate paths — Lidehäll going on to a notable career as a songwriter and producer for international pop artists. Their brief but influential run left a lasting mark on Swedish hip-hop of the 2000s.
