Aeroplane

Aeroplane is a Belgian electronic music project best known for its nu-disco and cosmic disco sound that emerged in the mid-to-late 2000s alongside artists like Midnight Juggernauts and the Italians Do It Better scene. Originally formed as a duo, the project became the vehicle of Brussels-based producer Vito De Luca, who built its reputation through lush, string-laden productions and a warm, retro-futuristic take on disco and house music.

Aeroplane first gained wide attention through remix work, reworking tracks for artists such as Friendly Fires, Chromatics, and Discodeine, before releasing original singles including «The Point Of No Return» and «Superstar». The project's biggest breakthrough came with «We Can't Fly», a melancholic yet danceable single that became a touchstone of the nu-disco revival and was widely played by DJs across Europe.

Musically, Aeroplane is defined by layered strings, melodic basslines, and a bittersweet, cinematic atmosphere that sets it apart from more straightforward dance productions. Tracks like «Caramellas» and «London Bridge» further cemented its place in the genre, and the project has continued to release music and collaborate with vocalists while maintaining its signature orchestral disco sound.
