Adrian Marcel

Adrian Marcel, born Marcel Williams in Oakland, California, is an American R&B singer and songwriter who emerged from the Bay Area's independent mixtape scene in the early 2010s. He built his early following with the 2013 mixtape 7 Days of Weak, released under the mentorship of Grammy-winning producer and musician Raphael Saadiq, who took Marcel on as a protégé and helped shape his blend of classic soul influences with contemporary West Coast production.

His breakout moment came in late 2014 with the single «2AM.», featuring rapper Sage the Gemini, a smooth, mid-tempo R&B track built around a sample that gave it instant nostalgic appeal and helped it cross over to a wider audience.
