Adnan Sami

Adnan Sami is a singer, pianist, and composer known for blending pop melodies with Indian classical and ghazal influences. Born in Pakistan and later based in India, he rose to prominence in the 1990s and became a fixture of Bollywood soundtracks and Indian pop, prized for his expressive vocals and virtuosic piano playing.

His breakthrough came with albums that fused Sufi and ghazal traditions with contemporary pop arrangements, songs such as «Bheegi Bheegi Raton Mein» and «Tera Chehra» becoming enduring favorites. He has also contributed extensively to Hindi film music, lending his voice and compositions to numerous soundtracks.

Sami is recognized as one of the pioneers of the Indi-pop movement, credited with popularizing a smoother, piano-driven pop sound within South Asian music. He later became an Indian citizen and continued performing and composing across film and independent releases.
