Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert is an American singer and songwriter who rose to fame in 2009 as the runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol. Known for his powerful, wide-ranging voice and flamboyant, theatrical stage presence, he quickly established himself as one of pop's most distinctive vocalists, drawing on glam rock, musical theater, and dance-pop influences.

His debut album, For Your Entertainment, released in 2009, entered the US Billboard 200 top three and produced international hit singles including the title track, «Whataya Want from Me», and «If I Had You». He followed with Trespassing in 2012, on which he took a greater hand as producer and songwriter; the album debuted at number one, making Lambert the first openly gay artist to top the Billboard 200. His third album, The Original High, arrived in 2015, continuing his run of chart success with a more electronic-leaning sound.

Beyond his solo work, Lambert became widely known as the touring lead vocalist alongside Queen starting in 2011, bringing Freddie Mercury's songbook to new audiences on numerous world tours. His visibility as an openly gay pop star, combined with his vocal range and genre-crossing sound spanning pop, rock, and electronic music, has made him a significant and influential figure in contemporary pop.
