Achint

Achint Thakkar, known professionally as Achint, is an Indian music composer and producer who has built a distinctive career scoring television series and web shows rather than following the conventional Bollywood film-music route. He is particularly recognized for his work on the acclaimed Coke Studio Bharat sessions, where his production on the song «Khalasi» drew widespread attention for its inventive, folk-infused sound design.

His most prominent collaborations have been with director Hansal Mehta, for whom he composed the score to «Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story», one of Indian streaming television's most celebrated series. The show's theme, built around tension and restrained tension-building instrumentation, became closely identified with the series' gritty, journalistic tone and helped establish Achint as a go-to composer for prestige web dramas. He extended this collaborative relationship with Mehta on subsequent series including «Scoop».

Beyond his work with Mehta, Achint has scored a range of other acclaimed shows such as «Rocket Boys» and «Monica, O My Darling», demonstrating versatility across genres from period drama to dark comedy. His music tends to favor atmosphere and restraint over conventional melodic hooks, using texture and mood to serve narrative rather than function as standalone pop material — an approach that has made him one of the more respected background-score composers in India's rapidly growing streaming industry.
