About the artist
Above & Beyond are an English trance group formed in London in 2000 by Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki. They are the founders of the influential dance labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, and for years have hosted the widely followed Group Therapy Radio show, which has helped shape and showcase the modern trance and progressive house scene. The trio has consistently ranked among DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs, reaching as high as #4 in the late 2000s.
Musically, Above & Beyond are known for emotionally resonant, melodic trance built on lush chord progressions, uplifting breakdowns and often vocal-driven songwriting rather than purely instrumental club tracks. Anthems like «Sun & Moon», «Sticky Fingers» and «Alone Tonight» became genre staples, while their acoustic reinterpretations — including an acoustic version of «Sun & Moon» — showed a willingness to strip their productions down to songwriting fundamentals, culminating in their acclaimed Acoustic album and live performances.
Tracks such as «Always», «Thing Called Love», «Cold Feet», «Love Is Not Enough» and «My Own Hymn» further reflect their range, spanning euphoric club anthems and more introspective, song-based material.
