ablume (어블룸)

ablume (어블룸) is a South Korean girl group formed under the agency Massive E&C, made up of three members — Saena, Aran, and Sio. The group's name draws on the German word blume, meaning "flower", chosen to evoke growth, blossoming, and a sense of renewed beginning. That symbolism reflects the members' own story: all three originally debuted in November 2022 as part of the group FIFTY FIFTY, where they earned early recognition before their careers were disrupted by legal disputes with their former agency, ATTRAKT.

After the dispute led to their departure from FIFTY FIFTY, the three spent roughly nine months out of the public eye before signing with Massive E&C and regrouping as ablume. They released their debut single album, «Echo», on May 9, 2025, marking a fresh start under a new identity and name. The material accompanying that release, including alternate, sped-up, slowed-down and instrumental versions of «Echo», points to a pop sound built around a strong central single and its variations, a common contemporary K-pop rollout strategy.

As a act still early in its career under its new name, ablume's identity is closely tied to its members' resilience and the narrative of rebuilding after a difficult industry dispute.
