AaRON

AaRON is a French duo from Paris formed by Simon Buret (vocals, piano, violin, harmonica) and Olivier Coursier (piano, guitar, drums). The band's name is an acronym derived from their debut album, U-Turn (Lili), released in 2007, which became a defining record for a certain strand of French indie pop and sold in large numbers across Europe. Much of that success came from two songs featured in the soundtrack of the hit French film Je Vais Bien, Ne T'en Fais Pas.

AaRON's sound blends indie art-rock with pop sensibilities, sung mostly in English, marked by Simon Buret's distinctive, fragile-sounding vocals set against Olivier Coursier's atmospheric compositions. Songs like «U-Turn (Lili)» and «We Cut The Night» showcase this melancholic, cinematic quality that made the duo popular in film and television placements.

Their 2010 album Birds in the Storm continued this trajectory, becoming another commercial success in France and earning them a European Border Breaker Award, followed by extensive touring across Europe. AaRON remains a notable name in the French alternative pop scene, known for crafting emotionally resonant songs that transcend language barriers.
