Sobre o artista
Celldweller é o principal projeto musical do produtor, multi-instrumentista e empreendedor de Detroit Klayton, lançado em 2000 após o fim de sua banda industrial anterior, Circle of Dust. Como artista e fundador de selo — ele cofundou a FiXT junto com James Rhodes —, Klayton transformou Celldweller em uma força que mistura gêneros com fluidez entre industrial, metal, eletrônica, drum & bass, orquestral e acústica, muitas vezes dentro de uma única faixa.
Klayton toca a maior parte dos instrumentos ele mesmo, de bateria e guitarra a baixo e piano, sobrepondo-os a uma densa programação de sintetizadores e produção cinematográfica. Faixas como «Switchback», «Frozen» e «Shapeshifter» mostram sua capacidade de combinar energia eletro-rock agressiva com composições melódicas e emocionalmente marcantes, enquanto seu trabalho instrumental voltado a trilhas fez de Celldweller uma fonte habitual de música para trailers, videogames e produções de cinema e TV.
O álbum de estreia homônimo do projeto alcançou a rara distinção de ter todas as faixas licenciadas para uso em mídia, consolidando a reputação de Celldweller como ponte entre a produção eletro-rock underground e o licenciamento sincronizado mainstream. Klayton continua lançando música e remixes sob o nome Celldweller há mais de duas décadas, mantendo uma base de fãs fiel por meio de seu selo independente FiXT.
