Sobre el artista
Celldweller es el proyecto musical principal del productor, multiinstrumentista y empresario de Detroit Klayton, quien lo lanzó en 2000 tras poner fin a su anterior banda industrial Circle of Dust. Como artista y fundador de sello discográfico —cofundó FiXT junto a James Rhodes— Klayton convirtió a Celldweller en una fuerza que mezcla géneros con fluidez entre industrial, metal, electrónica, drum & bass, orquestal y acústica, a menudo dentro de una misma canción.
Klayton toca la mayoría de los instrumentos él mismo, desde batería y guitarra hasta bajo y piano, superponiéndolos con una densa programación de sintetizadores y una producción cinematográfica. Temas como «Switchback», «Frozen» y «Shapeshifter» muestran su capacidad para combinar energía electro-rock agresiva con composiciones melódicas y emotivas, mientras que su trabajo instrumental y orientado a bandas sonoras ha convertido a Celldweller en una fuente habitual de música para trailers, videojuegos y producciones de cine y televisión.
El álbum debut homónimo del proyecto logró la rara distinción de tener todas sus pistas licenciadas para uso en medios, consolidando la reputación de Celldweller como puente entre la producción electro-rock underground y el licenciamiento sincronizado mainstream. Klayton ha seguido publicando música y remixes bajo el nombre Celldweller durante más de dos décadas, manteniendo una base de fans fiel a través de su sello independiente FiXT.
