Sobre o artista
Bright Eyes é um projeto de indie rock americano centrado no cantor e compositor Conor Oberst, que começou a lançar música ainda adolescente em Omaha, Nebraska, em meados dos anos 1990. Com o tempo, o projeto evoluiu de uma proposta solo lo-fi para uma banda completa, com o multi-instrumentista e produtor Mike Mogis e o trompetista e tecladista Nate Walcott, além de diversos colaboradores ligados à cena da gravadora Saddle Creek Records, de Omaha.
Bright Eyes tornou-se um dos nomes definidores do indie do início dos anos 2000, conhecido pelas letras confessionais e literárias de Oberst e por um som que transita livremente entre o folk acústico frágil, texturas eletrônicas e arranjos de banda completa. Faixas como «Lua», «First Day of My Life» e «At the Bottom of Everything» mostram essa amplitude, combinando uma entrega vocal íntima com arranjos que podem se tornar orquestrais ou ruidosos, dependendo do clima do disco.
O catálogo da banda, com músicas como «Poison Oak» e «Land Locked Blues», ajudou a definir uma geração de rock de cantautor emocionalmente direto e consolidou a reputação de Oberst como um dos letristas mais prolíficos e influentes de sua época.
