Sobre el artista
The Strokes es una banda de rock estadounidense formada en Nueva York a finales de los años noventa, integrada por Julian Casablancas (voz), Nick Valensi y Albert Hammond Jr. (guitarras), Nikolai Fraiture (bajo) y Fabrizio Moretti (batería). Se convirtieron en referentes del resurgimiento del garage rock de principios de los 2000, ofreciendo una alternativa directa y basada en riffs frente al nu metal y el rap rock que dominaban las radios.
Su álbum debut, «Is This It», recibió una aclamación crítica enorme y es señalado como el detonante de una ola de bandas de guitarra a ambos lados del Atlántico. Casablancas escribió la mayor parte del material temprano, moldeando un sonido compacto y pegadizo basado en líneas de guitarra entrelazadas y su característica voz filtrada.
En los álbumes posteriores, la banda fue abriendo su proceso de composición hacia producciones más densas y elaboradas, mientras sus miembros desarrollaban proyectos paralelos. Décadas después, The Strokes siguen siendo una de las bandas de rock más influyentes de su generación.
