Tom Misch

Tom Misch is an English singer-songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ from South London, born June 25, 1995. He emerged in the mid-2010s as a key figure in the UK's jazz-funk and neo-soul revival, blending smooth guitar work, warm chord voicings and hip-hop-influenced beatmaking into a sound often described as bedroom soul crossed with jazz fusion. His guitar playing, frequently processed through effects and looped live, became his signature.

Misch built his early reputation through instrumental beat tapes and remixes before releasing his debut album Geography in 2018, which showcased his range across neo-soul, funk and electronic textures. He later teamed up with jazz drummer Yussef Dayes for the acclaimed collaborative album What Kinda Music, fusing his melodic songwriting with Dayes's dynamic, jazz-rooted drumming. Tracks like «Movie» and «Crazy Dream» highlight his knack for laid-back, groove-driven songcraft.

As both a solo artist and collaborator, Misch has worked across R&B, pop and electronic contexts, contributing production and guitar to numerous other artists' projects. He remains one of the most recognisable voices in the contemporary London jazz-soul scene, known for a distinctive guitar tone and a genre-blending approach that connects classic soul influences with modern production sensibilities.
