TLC

TLC is an American R&B and hip-hop trio formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in the early 1990s, consisting of Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins, Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas. Signed to LaFace Records, the group quickly became one of the best-selling girl groups in music history, blending smooth R&B vocals with hip-hop attitude, playful street fashion, and socially conscious lyrics that tackled safe sex, self-esteem, and relationships.

Their breakthrough came with the debut album Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip, but it was CrazySexyCool and FanMail that cemented their legacy, producing massive hits like «Waterfalls», «Creep», «No Scrubs», and «Unpretty». The trio’s sound helped define 1990s R&B and New Jack Swing-influenced pop, mixing group harmonies with Left Eye’s distinctive rap verses.

Following Lopes’ death in 2002, T-Boz and Chilli continued as a duo, later releasing new material and touring, keeping the TLC name alive as one of the most influential and awarded girl groups of the era.
