Steve Lacy

Steve Lacy is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer born in 1998 and raised in Compton, California. He first gained attention as a member of the neo-soul group The Internet, where his guitar work and production shaped the band's sound on the Grammy-nominated «Ego Death» and the follow-up «Hive Mind».

As a producer he has worked with major names including Kendrick Lamar, on whose album «DAMN.» he contributed, as well as J. Cole, Kali Uchis, Isaiah Rashad, Tyler, The Creator and Solange. His signature style blends lo-fi, bedroom-recorded textures — much of his early work was famously made on an iPhone — with soulful guitar riffs rooted in West Coast funk and R&B traditions.

Lacy's solo career began with the six-track «Steve Lacy's Demo» in 2017, followed by his full-length debut «Apollo XXI» in 2019. He achieved major mainstream success with his 2022 album «Gemini Rights», featuring hits like «Bad Habit» and «Dark Red», which brought his distinctive, genre-blending sound — spanning R&B, funk, rock and psychedelia — to a much wider audience.
