Shiloh Dynasty

Shiloh Dynasty, born Ciara Nicole Simms, is an American indie singer-songwriter whose whispery, lo-fi vocal style found an audience on Instagram in the mid-2010s. Between 2015 and 2016 she built a devoted following by posting short, hazy voice memos and clips, accumulating tens of thousands of followers before abruptly going silent after her last post in September 2016.

Her wider fame came largely posthumously to her online presence, when lo-fi producer potsu sampled her vocals on several beats that were later used by the late rapper XXXTENTACION on tracks from his debut album 17. Those songs introduced Shiloh's ethereal, melancholic voice to a massive new audience, and tracks like «So Low» and «Losing Interest» became touchstones of the lo-fi and sad-rap aesthetic even as her true identity and whereabouts remained a mystery.

Her sudden disappearance only deepened the intrigue: despite going quiet publicly, business filings for a company under her name surfaced in the years that followed, fueling speculation among fans. A 2019 Genius documentary attempted to shed light on her story, speaking with people close to her, including her manager, who confirmed she had withdrawn from public life but offered little further detail. Shiloh Dynasty remains one of the internet's most enigmatic musical figures, her hushed, intimate sound continuing to influence bedroom-pop and lo-fi artists.
