Rusherking

Rusherking, born Thomas Nicolás Tobar in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, in 2000, is one of the leading voices of the new generation of Argentine urban pop and trap. He began as a freestyle battle rapper in 2016, competing in northern Argentine circuits such as Norte Fest and Barras del Norte before releasing his debut single «Lo que das» with Kaya in 2017. His early influences included Daddy Yankee alongside Argentine freestyle and trap figures like Acru, Emanero and Neo Pistéa.

His sound blends melodic trap, reggaeton and R&B-tinged pop, favoring hooky, romantically themed tracks over the more combative style of his freestyle roots. Songs such as «Además de Mí», «Ya No Me Extrañas», «Bailando Te Conocí» and «Antes de Ti» showcase his smooth, sung-rap delivery and his knack for radio-friendly collaborations, a hallmark of the current wave of Latin urban pop crossing between Argentina, Mexico and the wider Spanish-language market.
