Roy Woods

Roy Woods, born Denzel Spencer on April 18, 1996, in Brampton, Ontario, is a Canadian R&B and rap artist and one of the earliest signings to Drake's OVO Sound imprint. He gained early attention through the label's OVO Sound Radio show before releasing his debut EP «Exis», which reached the upper tier of Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop chart thanks to the Drake-assisted single «Drama».

His sound blends moody, atmospheric R&B production with rap cadences, fitting comfortably within the nocturnal aesthetic associated with the OVO camp. His mixtape «Waking at Dawn» followed in 2016, accompanied by a North American tour alongside Drake, Future, and labelmates dvsn, and it charted on both Canadian and US R&B/Hip-Hop rankings.

He went on to release the «Nocturnal» EP and his official debut album «Say Less», featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR, dvsn, 24hrs, and PnB Rock. Songs such as «Get You Good», «Down Girl», and «Instinct» established him as a steady presence in the R&B and hip-hop scene tied to Toronto's OVO sound.
