RiceGum, born Bryan Quang Le on November 19, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nevada, rose to fame not as a traditional rapper but as an internet personality who built a rap persona out of viral YouTube culture. He began uploading videos in 2012 and found his breakthrough with the December 2015 video «THESE KIDS MUST BE STOPPED!», which pushed his channel past a million subscribers within months. RiceGum became best known for a string of confrontational diss tracks aimed at Musical.ly stars, fellow YouTubers, and internet personalities, a format that blurred the line between music and content creation.
