About the artist
Rhye is a musical project centered on the Canadian singer Milosh, known for his androgynous, breathy falsetto that has led many listeners to mistake his voice for a woman's. The project began as a collaboration with Danish-American producer Robin Hannibal, whose lush, orchestral R&B arrangements shaped Rhye's early sound. Their music evokes intimacy and quiet sensuality, often compared to Sade for its smooth, restrained soulfulness.
Rhye's 2013 debut album Woman was widely acclaimed, earning a coveted Best New Music designation from Pitchfork and establishing the project as a standout in the indie R&B scene with the breakout single «The Fall». Hannibal's involvement diminished after the debut — he had also been signed as part of the duo Quadron — and Milosh has continued Rhye as a collaborative band featuring rotating musicians rather than a strict duo.
The long-awaited follow-up, Blood, arrived in 2018, expanding the project's palette while retaining its trademark hushed intimacy. Rhye's sound sits at the intersection of R&B, soul, pop and subtle electronic textures, built around minimal arrangements that foreground Milosh's voice as the emotional center of every song.
