About the artist
Pleasure P, born Marcus Ramone Cooper, is an American R&B singer who first rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the Miami group Pretty Ricky, known for their explicit, sensual take on urban R&B in the mid-2000s. After stepping away from the group, he launched a solo career in 2007-2008, positioning himself as a bridge between smooth R&B crooning and raunchier, rap-inflected hooks.
His solo debut single, «Did You Wrong», released in mid-2008, set the tone for the sound he would refine on his first solo album, The Introduction of Marcus Cooper, released in 2009. The record leaned into confessional, sometimes provocative themes of love, betrayal and desire, delivered with a falsetto-heavy vocal style that owed a debt to classic R&B while staying current with the Auto-Tune and rap-adjacent production trends of the era.
Pleasure P eventually reunited with his Pretty Ricky bandmates, continuing to work across both group and solo projects. His catalog blends the group's raw, party-oriented energy with more personal, ballad-style solo material, giving him a dual identity within 2000s-2010s R&B.
