ODESZA

ODESZA is an American electronic music duo, Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, who met and formed the project in Bellingham, Washington, around 2012 while students at Western Washington University. Now based in Seattle, they built a sound defined by lush, layered production combining organic instrumentation, brass and choral samples with synth-driven electronic beats, giving their music an anthemic, festival-ready quality distinct from more strictly club-oriented electronic acts.

Their debut, Summer's Gone, was self-released in 2012 and quickly earned attention within underground electronic circles, followed by the EP My Friends Never Die and the 2014 album In Return, whose deluxe edition added a horn-section reworking of several tracks. Their breakthrough into the mainstream came with 2017's A Moment Apart, home to singles like «Line of Sight» (featuring WYNNE and Mansionair) and the title track, which earned the duo Grammy nominations for Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance Recording.

ODESZA has become known for elaborate, large-scale live shows featuring live drummers and horn players alongside their electronic setup, and for frequent collaborations with vocalists and bands across genres, including RAC, Little Dragon and others. Their catalogue, including tracks such as «Say My Name», «It's Only» and «How Did I Get Here», helped define a melodic, emotionally expansive strand of festival electronic music through the 2010s and into the 2020s.
