About the artist
OB O'Brien is a Canadian rapper and singer from the Westdale neighborhood of Hamilton, Ontario. He rose to wider attention through his close ties to Drake and OVO Sound, appearing in music videos for tracks like «HYFR», «Worst Behavior», and «Started From The Bottom», and building a catalog of collaborative singles that blended melodic R&B hooks with rap verses in the OVO house style of the early 2010s.
His best-known release is a remix of Tinashe's «2 On» featuring Drake, retitled «2 On / Thotful», which helped introduce him to a broader audience beyond Toronto's hip-hop scene. He followed it with «Schemin' Up», featuring Drake and Preme, further cementing his place within the OVO camp's extended roster of artists and collaborators.
Beyond music, O'Brien co-created the phrase TOPSZN (Top Season) alongside OVO Ryan, which became a recognizable slogan across OVO merchandise around 2013 and 2014. His output includes tracks such as «Hazelton Trump», «Steve Nash», «Hamilton», and «Chicago», many of which nod to his Canadian roots and Toronto-area culture, cementing his identity as an artist inseparable from the OVO ecosystem even as his solo output remained relatively sparse.
