About the artist
Nasty C, born Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, is a South African rapper who grew up in Durban and became one of the country's leading hip hop voices while still a teenager. He drew wide attention with early mixtapes and singles, and by the time he released his debut studio album Strings and Bling he was already recognized as one of South Africa's most promising young MCs, with the project topping local iTunes charts.
His breakthrough into international audiences came through «Particula», a collaboration with Major Lazer that introduced his sound to listeners well beyond South Africa. Nasty C's music blends South African hip hop with elements of trap, R&B and pop, showcased in tracks like «Juice Back», «King» and «Eazy», and he has continued to work with a mix of local and international artists across his catalog.
He remains a central figure in South African hip hop, credited with helping raise the genre's profile on the continent and abroad while maintaining a sound rooted in his Durban upbringing and Zulu identity.
