About the artist
Martin Garrix, born Martijn Garritsen, is a Dutch DJ and producer from the Netherlands who rose from bedroom production to become one of the defining names of modern electronic dance music. His breakthrough came with the massive club anthem «Animals», which turned him into a teenage sensation and one of the youngest artists ever to headline major festival stages like Ultra Music Festival. He later founded his own label, STMPD RCRDS, to release his own work and support other artists.
Garrix built his sound on big-room house and progressive house energy, later broadening into pop-leaning crossover records with guest vocalists, including «Scared to Be Lonely» with Dua Lipa, «In the Name of Love» with Bebe Rexha, and «There For You» with Troye Sivan. This shift let him bridge festival mainstages and pop radio, working with artists ranging from Usher to Tiësto along the way.
Over the years he has remained a fixture of the global EDM festival circuit while continuing to experiment with different tempos and collaborators, from anthemic instrumentals like «High On Life» to more melodic, radio-friendly singles. His career trajectory — from a teenager posting tracks online to a festival headliner and label owner — has made him one of the most recognizable figures to emerge from the 2010s EDM boom.
