Mariah the Scientist

Mariah the Scientist, born Mariah Amani Buckles on October 27, 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia, is an R&B singer-songwriter whose stage name nods to her time as a biology student at St. John's University in New York. After writing songs originally intended as a personal gift, she found her calling as a musician, dropped out of school, and released her debut EP To Die For on SoundCloud before signing with RCA Records in 2019.

Her major-label debut album Master, led by the intimate ballad «Beetlejuice», established her as an artist capable of turning deeply personal experiences into vivid, emotionally direct songwriting.
