Mac Ayres

Mac Ayres is an American singer, songwriter and self-taught multi-instrumentalist from Sea Cliff, New York. Drawing on influences such as D’Angelo, Stevie Wonder and J Dilla, he blends soul, R&B, jazz and hip-hop into a warm, laid-back sound built around his falsetto vocals, live instrumentation and smooth chord progressions. He briefly attended Berklee College of Music before leaving to pursue his own path as an independent artist.

His early EPs, including Drive Slow, gained him wide attention, particularly the single «Easy», which spread rapidly through streaming playlists and became one of his signature songs. He followed this with the full-length albums Something to Feel in 2018 and Juicebox in 2019, supporting the latter with his first headlining North American tour.

Ayres has built a devoted fanbase largely through independent releases and word-of-mouth streaming success rather than major-label promotion, positioning him within a generation of bedroom-soul and alternative R&B artists who favor intimate, self-produced records. Songs like «Slow Down», «Stay» and «Get to You Again» showcase his knack for melodic, mellow songwriting that has made him a steady presence in contemporary R&B.
