Kehlani

Kehlani Parrish, known mononymously as Kehlani (they/them), is an R&B singer from Oakland, California, who first came to public attention in 2011 as part of the group Poplyfe on America's Got Talent, reaching the finals before losing to Landau Murphy. After the group disbanded, contractual issues delayed their solo career until the release of the mixtape Cloud 19 in 2014.

Their breakout came in 2015 with the mixtape You Should Be Here, featuring Chance the Rapper and BJ the Chicago Kid, which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Kehlani's debut studio album, SweetSexySavage, followed in 2017, cementing their reputation for blending R&B with pop and hip-hop-informed production, emotionally direct songwriting, and a distinctly West Coast sensibility.

Kehlani continued releasing music steadily, including the mixtape While We Wait (2019) and the sophomore album It Was Good Until It Wasn't (2020). Known for hits like «Honey», «Nights Like This», and «Toxic», they have built a career defined by candid, personal lyricism and a sound that moves fluidly between smooth R&B, moody pop, and occasional rap-inflected tracks.
