KAYTRAMINÉ

KAYTRAMINÉ is a collaborative duo formed by Canadian producer and DJ KAYTRANADA and American rapper/singer Aminé. Their name is a portmanteau of the two artists' names. The pairing grew out of an earlier working relationship: KAYTRANADA produced several tracks on Aminé's 2015 EP Calling Brio, including «Buckwild», «YeYe», and «La Danse», and that chemistry eventually developed into a full group project rather than a one-off collaboration.

The duo released their self-titled debut album, KAYTRAMINÉ, in May 2023, blending KAYTRANADA's signature groove-forward, dance- and R&B-inflected production with Aminé's playful, sharply melodic rapping and singing. Songs such as «4EVA», «Master P», and «Letstalkaboutit» showcase this mix of buoyant, funk- and house-tinged beats with breezy, hook-driven vocal performances, situating the project at the intersection of hip-hop, R&B, and dance music rather than squarely within traditional rap.

As a duo, KAYTRAMINÉ represents a notable pairing of two artists who each had established solo careers before joining forces — KAYTRANADA as one of the most acclaimed producer-DJs to emerge from the 2010s Soulection/beat-scene lineage, and Aminé as a Portland-born rapper known for witty, colorful songwriting — making their joint project a natural extension of a creative partnership that had already proven fruitful.
