Justice

Justice is a French electronic music duo formed in Paris in 2003, consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. The pair first gained attention with a remix of Simian's «Never Be Alone», released as «We Are Your Friends», before signing to Pedro Winter's Ed Banger Records, the label that became synonymous with the mid-2000s French electro scene.

Their debut album †, released in 2007, fused distorted, maximalist dance production with a heavy rock and disco sensibility, drawing comparisons to Daft Punk while carving out its own aggressive, riff-driven identity. The single «D.A.N.C.E.» became an era-defining hit, and the record was later nominated for a Grammy Award and is widely regarded as one of the most influential electronic albums of the 2000s. Justice further cemented their reputation with the live album and film A Cross the Universe, and won a Grammy for their remix of MGMT's «Electric Feel».

Across later albums such as Audio, Video, Disco. and Woman, the duo leaned further into arena-rock textures, orchestral flourishes, and guitar work, always paired with their trademark heavy compression and bass. Known for elaborate stage setups featuring a giant illuminated cross, Justice remain a defining act of the Ed Banger sound and a touchstone for electronic acts blending rock aesthetics with dance music.
