James Reid

James Reid is a Filipino-Australian actor and musician who rose to fame in the Philippines after winning Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash in 2010. He went on to become one of the country's leading young stars, appearing in popular films and television series while building a parallel career in R&B and pop-leaning music.

As a recording artist, Reid has released several albums that moved away from mainstream mass-market pop toward a moodier, more personal R&B and hip-hop-influenced sound, drawing comparisons to contemporary alternative R&B. He co-founded the independent label Careless Music Manila alongside fellow performer Bret Jackson, positioning it as a platform for original Philippine music (OPM) with an international, genre-forward sensibility, and released a joint EP with Jackson as well.

Reid's onscreen and offscreen partnership with actress and singer Nadine Lustre made the pair one of the most prominent celebrity couples in Philippine entertainment, and though they separated personally, they have continued to work together professionally. His departure from a major Philippine talent agency to pursue independent projects marked a deliberate turn toward creative control, reflected in the more introspective, self-produced direction of his later music.
