Hard Bass School

Hard Bass School is a Russian electronic duo from Saint Petersburg, formed by producers Pavel Zhukov and Val Toletov. Emerging in the early 2010s, the project became known for pushing the hardbass genre — a fast, aggressive offshoot of hardstyle rooted in Russian rave culture — into viral internet territory with deliberately provocative, tongue-in-cheek tracks.

Their music blends pumping hardbass rhythms with rap and pop elements, and satirical, often crude lyrics delivered in a mix of Russian and English. Tracks such as «Наш Гимн (Our Hymn)» and «Sex, квас, хардбасс» became anthems of the hardbass subculture, spawning street flashmob videos that racked up millions of YouTube views and turned the group into a symbol of Russian internet-driven underground music.

Beyond music releases, Hard Bass School tracks have appeared in Russian films such as «Околофутбола» («Okolofutbola») and have been performed at major rave and pumping parties across Russia and abroad, cementing their reputation as pioneers of the hardbass scene's crossover into mainstream meme culture.
