Gigi D'Agostino

Gigi D'Agostino is an Italian DJ, remixer, singer and producer, born in 1967, who rose to prominence in the 1990s as one of the defining figures of European dance and Italo dance music. He is widely credited with pioneering the «Lento Violento» style, a slower, melancholic strain of hardstyle-adjacent dance music that stood apart from the faster tempos dominating clubs at the time.

His biggest crossover hits, including «Bla Bla Bla», «The Riddle», «La Passion», «Another Way» and especially «L'Amour Toujours», became fixtures of European charts and continue to circulate widely today, with «L'Amour Toujours» experiencing a major viral resurgence decades after its release. His productions are marked by hypnotic, repetitive melodic hooks, emotive vocal samples and a distinctly romantic, almost wistful energy that set them apart from more aggressive dance styles of the era.
