Gestört aber GeiL is a German electronic-pop and dance project founded in October 2010 by DJs Nico Wendel and Spike*D, who met while both were playing sets at a discotheque in Sangerhausen, Germany. Their name — roughly translating to «disturbed but cool» — reflects the playful, party-driven spirit of their music, which blends dance and electronic pop with catchy German-language hooks.

The duo built their catalogue around upbeat, club-ready tracks and radio-friendly remixes, with singles such as «Unter meiner Haut», «Wünsch Dir was», and «Ich & Du» finding traction on German dance and pop charts. Their music typically pairs pulsing electronic production with emotionally direct, sung-along choruses, positioning them within the German Schlager-adjacent dance-pop tradition alongside acts working in a similar commercial electronic style.

In 2019, Spike*D left the project and was replaced by Oliver Helmert, with Nico Wendel remaining the group's constant member and driving force. Gestört aber GeiL has continued releasing music and performing as one of the more recognizable acts in Germany's contemporary electronic dance-pop scene.
