Fricky

Fricky is the stage name of Erik Friman, a Swedish singer born in 1992 and active in the Umeå music scene. He first made a name for himself as one half of the hip-hop duo Broder John & Friman, rapping under the name Friman. In 2016 he stepped out as a solo artist under the name Fricky, launching this new chapter with the single «Kär Pt. 1», on which he sang rather than rapped, marking a clear stylistic shift from his hip-hop roots.

Since that debut, Fricky has built a catalog that blends pop, R&B and rap sensibilities, favoring melodic, sung vocals over the rap delivery of his earlier work. Songs like «Aqua Aura», «Hon få mig», «Fricktown» and «Mästerort» reflect this softer, more melodic direction while still carrying traces of the hip-hop scene he emerged from.

Fricky is closely tied to the Umeå collective Hoopdiggas, which he runs together with Broder John, and he is also a member of the group Random Bastards. These collaborative ties place him within a tight-knit northern Swedish hip-hop and pop network, where solo and group projects regularly intersect.
