Franglish

Franglish, born Gédéon, is a French rapper from the 20th arrondissement of Paris. Raised on hip-hop culture and drawn to American rap figures, he built a style that blends French and English lyrics, a mix that gave him his stage name and became his signature sound. He came up through freestyles in his neighborhood, initially performing under names like Gezzy and Mr Franglish before settling on Franglish.

He belongs to the wave of French rappers who fuse rap with R&B and pop melodicism, favoring smooth, radio-friendly hooks over harder street rap. His breakthrough mixtapes, including The Franglish Prototype, featured collaborations with artists such as Alpha Wann and S.Pri Noir, and helped establish him within the Paris rap scene.

Franglish later moved toward a more polished, hit-oriented sound, scoring popular singles such as «C’est plus l’heure», «Compte sur moi» and «Ensemble», often incorporating Afrobeats and Latin-tinged influences, as heard on tracks like «Qué rico». His music sits at the crossroads of rap, R&B and pop, appealing to a wide mainstream French audience.
