Fatboy Slim

Fatboy Slim is the stage name of Norman Cook, an English DJ, musician and producer who became one of the defining figures of the big beat sound in the 1990s. Before adopting the name in 1996, he played bass in the indie band The Housemartins and worked under other aliases like The Mighty Dub Katz, but it was as Fatboy Slim that he found global stardom.

His breakthrough album You've Come a Long Way, Baby delivered hits such as «The Rockafeller Skank» and the UK number one «Praise You», cementing his reputation for chunky breakbeats, funky samples and euphoric, dance-floor-ready hooks. Tracks like «Right Here, Right Now» and «Weapon of Choice», the latter with its striking Spike Jonze-directed video featuring Christopher Walken, became era-defining anthems of late-90s and early-2000s dance culture. His remix of Cornershop's «Brimful of Asha» also topped the UK charts.

Known for his energetic, playful DJ sets and huge outdoor shows on Brighton beach, Fatboy Slim helped bring big beat and electronic dance music to a mainstream audience worldwide, influencing a generation of festival and club culture.
