Faith Evans

Faith Evans is an American singer, songwriter, and producer who rose to prominence in the mid-1990s as a central figure at Bad Boy Entertainment, the label led by Sean «Puff Daddy» Combs. Before her own recording career, she worked as a background vocalist and songwriter for artists including Al B. Sure!, Mary J. Blige, and Usher, building the vocal and writing craft that defined her later work as a solo R&B artist.

Her 1995 debut album, Faith, established her as a leading voice in 1990s R&B, going platinum and producing hits like «You Used to Love Me» and «Soon As I Get Home». Her marriage to rapper The Notorious B.I.G. and his murder in 1997 profoundly shaped her public identity; she paid tribute to him alongside Puff Daddy and 112 on the chart-topping «I'll Be Missing You», which won a Grammy Award. Her follow-up album, Keep the Faith, continued her commercial success with the hit «Love Like This».

Across subsequent albums and label changes, Evans maintained a consistent presence in R&B, later revisiting her connection to Biggie on the 2017 project The King & I, which paired her vocals with his acapellas. She has also appeared in film and reality television, including The Fighting Temptations, R&B Divas, and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, extending her visibility beyond music.
