dvsn

dvsn (pronounced "division") is a Canadian alternative R&B duo from Toronto formed by producer Nineteen85 (Paul Jefferies) and singer Daniel Daley. The project first surfaced anonymously in 2015 when Nineteen85, already known for his work within Drake's OVO camp, previewed «The Line» and «With Me» on OVO Sound Radio. The mystery around the duo's identity fueled early buzz before Nineteen85 confirmed his and Daley's involvement.

Their debut album SEPT. 5TH arrived in 2016, cementing dvsn's sound: hazy, minimalist production paired with Daley's falsetto-leaning vocals, drawing on classic soul phrasing filtered through a moody, nocturnal Toronto R&B aesthetic. The duo's profile grew further with a feature on Drake's Views («Faithful») the same year, tying them closely to the OVO Sound label.

Subsequent albums Morning After (2017) and A Muse In Her Feelings (2020) expanded their catalog, the latter featuring guests like PARTYNEXTDOOR, Future, and Popcaan, followed by the deluxe companion Amusing Her Feelings (2021). Across their work, dvsn have remained distinctive for prioritizing mood and vocal restraint over conventional hooks, positioning them among the architects of the introspective, slow-burning R&B sound that defined much of 2010s Toronto music alongside acts like The Weeknd and PARTYNEXTDOOR.
